  13.    The Fontographer is a utility designed to create printouts of all
  14. available fonts installed on your system similar to those found in
  15. a typesetter's type book. This demonstration version allows you to print
  16. out a list of all available fonts on your system in their respective
  17. typefaces and print complete character sets for these typefaces.
  18.    If you find this program to be of use you may register your copy
  19. and receive the completed Fontographer which adds the ability to
  20. print reference cards for each typeface (that contain all 256
  21. characters defined in the font), and added control in the formatting
  22. of your output.
  23.    The Fontographer is also geared at weeding out fonts that seem to work
  24. on screen, but cause the (Postscript) printer to crash. In writing this
  25. program I discovered six such fonts on my system.
  26.    Registration also entitles you the right to purchase fonts from our
  27. public domain library of Adobe Type Manager(tm) compatible fonts for
  28. $7.50 per disk (each disk is a 3.5" 1.44 Meg disk). We currently have
  29. five disks available.

  39. Notes:      Printing fonts takes up a lot of memory. On our development
  40.        system we have 66 different fonts. This took 10-15 minutes for
  41.        the printing of each typeface function to complete generation
  42.        of output so be prepared to wait...the results will be worth
  43.        it. 
  44.             Also, please note that due to the amount of data being
  45.        printed, at least with our Postscript printer, the Print
  46.        Manager would frequently stall returning Unable To Write To LPT1:
  47.        messages. We fixed that by syncing the program and the printer
  48.        (which means the program had to slow down, unfortunately, and
  49.        and not the converse) which in turn means the Abort button is
  50.        not instantly responsive.
